Alkaline ash diet is designed to address the alarming incidence of exponentially growing numbers of different diseases and other health-related conditions. Proponents have largely attributed that this upsurge boils down to one perfect cause, the continuous consumption of western-influenced foods.

Per medical standpoint, it does take scrupulous will to avoid the foods that we have been accustomed to. We usually argue that for seemingly countless numbers of foods in the wide world, why deprived yourself of the foods that you want to eat. This reflects the common mentality of the people today. Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids

Omega-3 is fatty acid gives a positive impact on our body. Omegas are not manufactured by our body; it has to be taken as additional supplements in our daily diet. There are 3 types of Omega-3 fatty acids that we use in our body- alpha-linolenic (ALA) acid, eicosapentaenoic (EPA) acid and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). DHA and EPA are the two most important types of Omega-3 fatty acids which are found in fish oils and should be included in our diet.

Omega-3 has several benefits. They are useful for treating and preventing diabetes, joint pains, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, migraines, obesity, depression, high blood pressure etc. Omega fatty acids are basically beneficial in reducing heart problems and maintaining a healthy heart. With the increasing popularity of vegetarian food, people who do not eat fish like mackerel, salmon, sardines and herring can take these supplements for better results. Researchers say that it is advisable to eat fish at least 2 times a week. Green vegetables like cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and spinach are a good source of Omega-3. Soya beans, nuts like walnuts, pumpkin seeds, some eggs and other commercial food products such as bread and baked goods, yogurt and infant formula foods are now prepared with omega-3 fatty acid and are thus useful for our body. It has essential fatty acids which helps in reducing inflammation and helps in promoting wound healing in burned victims.

However our diets are highly insufficient in Omega-3 foods, thus additional supplements becomes necessary to overcome these deficiencies. They help in keeping the blood pressure and cholesterol level low, which can reduce heart attacks and strokes. People who do not get sufficient Omega-3 fatty acids led to an unhealthy balanced diet thus affecting mental and physical health.

Thus in order to maintain maximum health, Omega-3 should be included in our diet. Its main purpose is to allow proper amount of nutrients to enter in our cells and remove all the waste products from the cells. Omega-3 is required for physical health. These supplements are now recommended by various doctors for healthy functioning of brain and heart. They available in concentrated capsule form.

Essential Fatty Acids: An Article Devoid Of Any Humor On The Benefits Of EFA Supplementation

Essential Fatty Acids: An Article Devoid Of Any Humor On The Benefits Of EFA Supplementation

Article by Tod Syversen

When the words oil or fat are mentioned in the same sentence as diet, do you tend to run for cover? What you may be missing is that there are good fats and bad fats. Total avoidance of oils and fats would actually be detrimental – rather than beneficial – to your health.

When you avoid fats you are missing a whole group of fats called Essential Fatty Acids. These fats essential because your body can not create them and they are required for good health. You must obtain these fats from the food you eat.

Essential fatty acids are divided into two families: omega-6 and omega-3 EFAs. While there are only very slight differences that distinguish the two groups of essential fatty acids from each other their impact on your body is dramatically different.

Studies have revealed that too much intake of omega-6 EFAs can lead to inflammation, blood clotting and tumor growth. The good news, however, is that the omega-3 EFAs provide the counter balance to the effects of omega-6 EFAs.

There are several different types of omega-6 fatty acids. Linoleic acid is the most common omega-6 fatty acid in the average diet. Linoleic acid comes from vegetable oils and in the fat of commercially raised animals where it is unnaturally high. Two common vegetable oils high in omega-6 EFAs are corn and soy oils, both of which contain high amounts of linoleic acid.

The three most nutritionally important omega 3 fatty acids are alpha-linolenic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Omega-3 EFAs can be found in fish oils, flaxseed oil, canola oil, walnut oil, and green leafy vegetables. These are all excellent alpha-linolenic acid sources. Generally fish oils are the best source for EPA & DHA which is why these are so closely associated with fish.

Take note that of the different omega-3 EFAs, EPA & DHA provide the biggest benefits. There are many special benefits to the human body that have been observed from the consumption of these fatty acids. In the early 1970′s, a study on Greenland Eskimos have revealed that one of the major reasons why they rarely suffer from heart diseases is because of their high-fat diet composed mainly of fish.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Physicians and scientists are of the same opinion about the causes behind the decreasing health of people today. This decrease in health is continuing in spite of better health and fitness knowledge. Cases of heart disease, hypertension or high blood pressure, obesity, diabetes, premature aging and certain kinds of cancer are on the rise and they can be linked to the imbalanced intake of omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs.

Other Benefits of EPA/DHA

The two essential fatty acids, EPA and DHA, are incredibly helpful in preventing atherosclerosis, heart attacks, depression and various forms of cancer. Fish oil supplements have also proven to be useful in treating illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, Raynaud’s disease and ulcerative colitis. There are a lot more illnesses and situations in which the increased intake of fish oil has proven to be significantly beneficial.

Naturally, it’s in our best interests to keep our hearts happy and healthy and one way of doing that is eating foods that are high in omega-3 EFAs and in particular EPA & DHA.

In Athens, Greece, for instance, one study was conducted to show if there was a direct relationship between a high fish diet and inflammation of blood vessels. The results revealed that those who ate the most fish had a lower level of C-reactive protein and interleukin-6, two factors that are commonly used to measure likelihood of blood vessel inflammation. These benefits remained even when the various risks associated with a high fish diet were taken into account.

Hopefully I have done what I started out to do and you understand the importance of returning the natural balance of omega-3 and omega-6 EFAs to your diet. Increasing the EPA & DHA you get through your diet whether through eating more fish or supplementing with fish oils would be one of the most beneficial things you can do for your health. I’ve given a very short list of the positive effects of EPA & DHA as they are too numerous to cover in this article.

Remember, nothing is good when consumed or used to excess but complete avoidance of a particular food type is equally harmful as well. Seek the assistance of a qualified professional to get your diet on track to better health and make sure that the regular consumption of omega-3, EPA and DHA fatty acids are part of that plan.

Vitamin B9 – Folic Acid Benefits

Benefits of Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)

Vitamin B9 is essential for the metabolic processes in our body. Vitamin B9 is also important for the iron carrying component of the hemoglobin in the red blood cells. It is especially beneficial to pregnant women. During the pregnancy, the fetus tends to absorb more of the mother’s folic acid, leaving the mother’s body depleted. This is why it is super important that pregnant women receive good prenatal care. The first thing a prenatal doctor gives an expecting mother is folic acid. It’s believed that folic acid can greatly reduce the chances of certain birth defects.

Vitamin B9 is also beneficial in reducing the risk of heart disease by reducing the levels of amino acid. Vitamin B9 carries these other great beneficial factors. It protects the body against certain forms of cancer and heart disease, it is used in the treatment of anemia, it is believed to be useful in preventing stroke and heart attacks, and it helps with digestion and is also good for the nervous system. Among other things, Vitamin B9 helps to improve mental and emotional health.

The Benefits Of Kangen Water

Article by Martin Cruzer

If you want a healthy body and lifestyle, it is important that you try and maintain a chemical balance in your body. If the acidity levels are too high, it can cause a few health issues. These issues can include heartburn, urinary tract infections, unwanted weight gain, loss of energy and can even lead to much more serious conditions such as cancer and heart disease. In order to balance pH levels, Kangen Water can be a great help.

Kangen Water is neither neutral nor acidic and lies on the basic side of the pH scale. Many believe that this type of water has many advantages if you want to ensure continued health. A lot of the foods that we eat are known to dramatically increase the amount of acidity in our body. This is usually indicated through heartburn shortly after consuming these foods.

Alkaline H2O has the ability to counteract the acidity and normalize the pH levels in the body. Some of the benefits of this “Water” that have been noted are better digestion, reduced heartburn, increased energy levels and better hydration of the cells in your body.

It is important that our body stays hydrated and health experts recommend that we must drink at least 2 liters or roughly half a gallon of water daily. While most people will drink tap water, it is far more beneficial to drink alkaline or ionized water. This will neutralize any stored acids and toxins and then remove them from your body.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Besides the already mentioned benefits, studies have also shown that ionized H20 might be able to help the body resist disease as well as slow down the aging process. This is achieved through the effective hydration of the skin cells and tissues in the body. Better hydration of these tissues ensures that the skin remains firm and elastic so that no lines or wrinkles start to appear.

Ionized water also helps your body replenish essential vitamins like sodium, magnesium and calcium. It can also promote and maintain the normal flow of blood in the body so that nutrients in the blood can be taken to the parts of the body where they are needed. Finally it flushes out and removes any waste that collects in the body.

If you are feeling tired and worn out or have been having problems with indigestion then you should consider the benefits of drinking Kangen Water. With continued consumption, you will soon start to feel refreshed and energetic and will start living a healthier lifestyle.

What Are The Benefits Of Food Combining

Acid Alkaline Foods / No Comments

What Are The Benefits Of Food Combining

Article by Mary Dezfoli

Food is the fuel we require to stay alive. To use food properly and assimilate the essential nutrients present in it, our digestive system needs to break the food that we eat into smaller components. We can enjoy the numerous benefits of various Food Combining Diet only when our digestive system is working properly.

Different foods require different conditions in the stomach and different enzymes for proper digestion. For instance, proteins require acidic juices for digestion, while carbohydrates require alkaline juices. When the different juices are used simultaneously, they neutralize the effect of one other and retard digestion. The result is that the food we eat is not digested properly, and food particles seep into in crevices located in the intestinal tract. These leftover food particles, over time, ferment and putrefy. This in turn can lead to various health problems such as bloating, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, heartburn, cramps, flatulence, and malabsorption. Moreover, the leftover food particles become ‘food’ for harmful bacteria, which in turn can cause many other health problems.

To ensure complete absorption of the food we eat, we don’t need to understand the intricacies of the digestion process. The knowledge about which food type should be eaten with another, and the implementation of proper food combining techniques is sufficient to ensure proper digestion and assimilation of essential nutrients.

Food combining for weight loss

Food combining for weight loss is a simple, yet very effective way to ensure that the body burns fat properly. The idea is to eat certain foods together to aid digestion while avoiding other foods in the same meal.

Benefits of a food combining diet

Here’s a look at some of the benefits of a food combining diet:

* Enables the body to burn fat effectively

* Prevents accumulation of undigested food particles in the intestine

* Prevents digestive problems such as constipation, irritable bowel syndrome, bloating, heartburn

* Improves energy levels and vitality

Food types

To incorporate proper food combining techniques, it is essential to know about the different types of food and which food type can be used with the other.

On the basis of how food is digested, it is divided into the following four groups:

Food Group 1 – Proteins

Protein-rich foods include: eggs, fish, meat, milk, soybeans, soya products, tofu, nuts, cheese, yogurt, and shellfish.

Food Group 2 – Carbohydrates

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Foods that are rich in carbohydrates include: rice, maize, pasta, oats, millet, honey, potatoes, starchy vegetables, sweets, grain products, bread, biscuits, cakes, and pastries.

Food Group 3 – Non-starchy vegetables

This group contains non-starchy vegetables, salads, fresh herbs, butter, seeds, cream, olive oil (cold-pressed), and spreading fats.

Food Group 4 – All fruits

Fruits are further categorized into four categories: acidic fruits, sub-acidic fruits, sweet fruits, and melons.

Acidic fruits include: oranges, lemons, grapefruit, pineapples, tangerines, pomegranates, etc.

Sub-acidic fruits include: mango, apples, papaya, plums, kiwi, peaches, berries, etc.

Sweet fruits include: figs, dates, bananas, prunes, dried fruits, etc.

Melons include: casaba, watermelon, muskmelon, honeydew, etc.

Food combination

* Foods belonging to Group 1 (proteins) should not be eaten with foods that fall in Group 2 (carbohydrates).

* Group 3 foods (non-starchy vegetables) can be eaten with either Group 1 foods or Group 2 foods.

* Group 4 foods (fruits) should only be eaten alone. Furthermore, acidic fruits can be eaten with sub-acid fruits, but not with sweet fruits. Sub-acid fruits can be eaten with acid fruits, as well as sweet fruits. However, sweet fruits should not be eaten with acidic fruits. Lastly, melons should not be eaten with any other type of fruit.

* Our body takes four hours to completely digest proteins. That is why you should not eat carbohydrates for three hours after consuming a protein-rich meal.

* Carbohydrates are digested by our body in two hours. So, if you have eaten a carbohydrate-rich meal, then you must give a gap of two hours before eating a protein-rich meal.

* It is best to eat fruits on an empty stomach. Do not consume fruits for at least three hours after eating other foods. Also, do not consume a meal after eating fruits for at least 30 minutes.

We can enjoy the numerous benefits of various food combining Diet only when our digestive system is working properly. For instance, proteins require acidic juices for digestion, while carbohydrates require alkaline juices.

The Benefits of Alkalinity Water

Posted by admin
Ionized Water / No Comments

The Benefits of Alkalinity Water

Alkalinity water is water that has been ionized through a process of electrolysis, which has caused the water to become alkaline by increasing the pH level. Scientists, physicians and others in the health industry have long understood that illness thrives in an acidic environment, while health is protected in an alkaline environment.

Health savvy consumers are also beginning to recognize the importance of maintaining a healthy, alkaline pH balance in the body in order to preserve health and prevent disease.

]]>

Some advocate eating alkalinizing foods like green spinach, garlic, apples, cantaloupe and almonds while avoiding acidifying foods like corn, blueberries, oatmeal, wheat flour and peanuts.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

An alkaline-rich diet, like the one listed above, assists the body in maintaining a proper, healthful pH balance. A slightly alkaline pH in the body helps protect health and prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease, and other age related illnesses.

Hydrating with alkalinity water is another way health-minded individuals are maintaining proper pH in the body. In healthy individuals the blood is alkaline and is the key reason for the physical and mental well-being they experience.

Those who drink alkalinity water often explain that not only does the water taste better than standard tap or filtered water, but it seems to give them a boost of energy as well. In fact, fatigue, frustration, and an inability to focus are all signs that the body has become too acidic.

Unfortunately alkalinity water does not come out of the tap. Perhaps one day our municipal waters will be cleansed through a process of electrolysis, but for now we must purchase a filtration system in order to enjoy the health benefits of alkalinity water.

what you just learned about Alkalinity Water is just the begining. To get the full story and all the details, check us out at ionizersreviewed

Benefits of Omega-3 and Folic Acid in Pregnancy Nutrition

Body Acidity / No Comments

Benefits of Omega-3 and Folic Acid in Pregnancy Nutrition

Article by Isabel De Los Rios

Bringing a healthy baby into the world is top priority for expecting mothers. This is why folic acid and omega-3 are two nutrients you simply can’t do without. Adding foods that are rich in these vitamins to your pregnancy nutrition plan can help your baby grow properly in the uterus.

Benefits of Omega-3 Fatty Acids During Pregnancy

Omega-3 is a type of polyunsaturated fat that is important for the health of both you and your baby. Omega-3 is found in high concentrations in the brain, so it is vital for optimum brain development. This nutrient also helps with the formation of your unborn baby’s retinas and nervous system.

If you don’t get enough omega-3 in your diet, your fetus will take what he needs from your own stores and leave your body deficient. This can increase your risk of preterm labor, cesarean birth and postpartum depression.

Studies suggest that babies who are exposed to plenty of omega-3 in the womb have greater attention spans and higher visual acuity than infants who were not exposed to this nutrient. Over the long-term, adequate levels of omega-3 reduces the likelihood of developmental and behavioral problems in children later in life.

Omega-3 fatty acids are especially important during the third trimester when your baby is developing most of her brain system. Most experts recommend pregnant mothers get 250 mg of omega-3 in their diets each day.

Benefits of Folic Acid During Pregnancy

Folic acid is a form of vitamin B that’s vital to have during the early stages of pregnancy. Being deficient in this nutrient can increase your risk of having a baby born with a neural tube defect known as spina bifida.

Spina bifida causes the spine not to close completely, and the nerves that control leg movements and other functions are left exposed. This condition can range from mild to severe and cause varying degrees of paralysis, incontinence, mental retardation, learning disabilities or meningitis.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Doctors aren’t exactly sure what causes spina bifida, but some of the risk factors have been identified. They include:

• family history of neural tube defects• folic acid deficiency• being Caucasian or Hispanic• taking certain anti-seizure medications while pregnant• being obese• hyperthermia during the early months of pregnancy

Foods that Contain Omega-3 and Folic Acid

The body can’t make omega-3, so it’s important to eat a variety of foods that contain this nutrient. Excellent sources of omega-3 include anchovies, wild salmon, sardines, herring, dark green veggies, flaxseed oil, walnuts and organic eggs.

If you feel you are not getting enough omega-3 in your diet, taking fish oil supplements can help. Talk to your doctor before adding supplements to your diet.

Spina bifida usually happens within the first four weeks of pregnancy. This is why it’s important to have enough folic acid in your body even before you conceive. Experts recommend women get 400 mcg of folic acid per day prior to pregnancy. Once you’re pregnant, you should increase your intake of this vitamin to 600 mcg.

If you are at an increased risk for having a baby with spina bifida, your doctor may prescribe a larger dose of folic acid to help reduce the risk. Although taking prenatal vitamins will likely give you the folic acid you need everyday, it’s still important to eat foods that contain this nutrient.

Foods that contain folic acid include citrus fruits, dark green vegetables, beans and egg yolks.

Having a healthy baby is what matters most. Eating foods that are rich in omega-3 and folic acid can help you accomplish this goal by providing your fetus with some of the things he needs to develop properly in the womb.

Benefits of Carrot Juice in your Diet

Posted by admin
Acid Alkaline Diet / No Comments

Benefits of Carrot Juice in your Diet

In this article the aim is to tell you about the benefits of carrot juice in your diet, and how this somewhat bland vegetable can be one of the many that can help you loose weight and at the same time fight off illness and disease.

Some times in life the benefits of some foods are not apparent as we do our weekly shop, and it’s so easy to spend money on vitamin supplements, and foods especially prepared for diets when a far superior alternative is staring us in the face.

The subject of diets can be confusing to say the least, and it doesn’t matter whether you’re counting points, calories, or just generally just cutting back on your food intake. Each person has their own view which is best, and what I’m talking about here with the benefits of carrot juice in your diet will probably not suit everyone’s taste.

My theory behind the use of carrot juice comes from medical research. They have proved that it’s the food we eat that causes many of today’s many diseases. As the body is mainly water in its content, and as water can either be either acidic, alkaline, or neutral we have to notice that many foods tend to be acidic in their content. This is where the medical research teams have proved time and time again that by altering our food intake to one of an alkaline nature we can not only loose weight but we can also recover from many horrible diseases that are present in today’s world.

Fruit and vegetable are a superb example of alkaline foods, and carrots, and carrot juice are one of the best.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Now before you jump up and down saying that carrots are rather bland or the taste is not to your liking they can be mixed with other fruits so that they can be something you look forwards to taking.

To give you an idea of calorie content if you were to take a mixture of fruit and carrot juice in a drink the calories per cup would be between 70 and 100 calories. Simply by replacing one meal a day with a delicious glass of juice and the mixture can be your own choice. You may love strawberries or bananas, and by mixing in some carrot juice you will find that you will begin to look forward each day to your daily juice. (I suggest you choose breakfast)

Taking things further you may want to then cut down own the acidic content of your diet. I’m not saying that you cut it out altogether as to eat just fruit and vegetables could be boring.

Here’s a short list of some of the acidic things we have in our normal diet, and that by cutting back on them will help us all loose weight.
