Get Rid of Acid Reflux Disease by Controlling Stress

My mission to get rid of acid reflux disease (gerd) got new hope, when I finally understood this: for hundreds of years modern doctors have considered the mind and body to be separate entities, having little to do with each other. Now, more and more, doctors are finding that the mind and body are very intimately connected and that the mind has a great deal to do with how the body is feeling and functioning.

Alarm and Despair

When I first found out I had gastric acid reflux I was scared. My whole life had been pretty stressful already and now this; this pain; this extreme discomfort. I was told by my doctor that if the many drugs I was prescribed to take didn’t work, then I would have to learn to live with it. At first, I felt alarmed at the possibility of living on drugs for acid reflux indigestion the rest of my life. Then I felt despair because I am a life loving person and I wanted to have the energy and enthusiasm I once had.

Not A Quitter

So after my pity party I decided to take responsibility for my own health; I DID want to get rid of acid reflux. It has been an exciting journey and now I am thankful for the experience of having the gastric acid reflux. Why? I have learned so much about myself, about life and about life’s energy. I have learned that gerd is a psychogenic disorder. What’s that? Psychogenic means beginning in the mind or emotions/having to do with mental conflicts.

I didn’t understand at first . . . I was defensive! I thought, “Hey now, I have been a cheerful and charismatic person my whole life! I’m not a down-in-the-mouth, feel sorry for myself type.” I wasn’t happy to think about taking responsibility for suffering with this gastric reflux indigestion. NO! . . . it’s just something that happened to me.

The Mind Body Connection

I am a very emotional person. Everything is bigger than life and I feel strongly about LOTS of things. I have handled most projects in my life as though they were an emergency or the whole world depended on me. My view of life was “Life is hard”. I’ve a tendency to burn the candle at both ends and take on too much at once. I have been like the energizer bunny my whole life. I’ve been someone who gives to and takes care of everyone but myself. I secretly wished. though, that I could just slow down and take care of me.

Over time life seemed to start to implode (opposite of explode). I had some experiences that seemed like failures and huge disappointments. Things started eating away at me. . . and eating away . . . and my life was becoming hard to swallow. Are you seeing the body mind connection of acid reflux disease?

To Know Me Is To Heal Me

The more I get to know myself and feeeel myself the better I am healing on my wonderful path to get rid of acid reflux disease. I don’t swallow my feelings any more and I don’t let my emotions eat away at me. I am learning to be at peace with myself and the world and I am feeling better and better everyday I live.

Acidity – Oxidation and Stress

Acidity – Oxidation and Stress

Article by LY Morris

Did you know that high acidity levels in your body can lead to disease and illness? From polluted air, exposure to chemicals, negative thoughts and emotions, refined sugar, processed foods, dyes, hormones in meats, just to name a few.

So it’s important that we counteract those acidity levels with proper alkalinity to achieve a balanced pH level. There are several sound and simple ways to do this. Alkalizing the body can be achieved through diet, or even more simply drinking alkalized, ionized water.

Most people are unaware that they have large amounts of acid forming in their system, aside from the hydrochloric acid which helps to digest our food, a very necessary good acid. A delicate pH balancing act goes on in our bodies requiring an exact number on the pH scale (7.35) for our blood to keep up alive. If the body is too acidic, nutrients are not able to be transported properly, cells can be starved of needed oxygen, and a chain of events can result in disease. Disease actually thrives in an acidic environment, and conversely, cannot live in an alkaline environment.

Antioxidants: There is a word that’s thrown around a lot these days! That’s oxidation. An anti-oxidant is simply a molecule that can fight an oxidant or free radical which is an unstable, very damaging molecule to your cells. Did you know that your body can produce plenty of its own antioxidants when given the proper environment? Our body is a perfect machine!

When the unstable molecules are replaced with the right kind of stable molecules, homeostasis occurs. Antioxidants fight oxidation and keep your cells healthy. So with both antioxidants and properly balanced alkalinity levels, your body is able to achieve a natural state of balance on its own. Isn’t that great?

Dehydration & Stress

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

Stress and Depression is one of the leading causes of illness in our country. Ten million Americans are suffering from some form of stress, anxiety or depression and many more will experience a milder form of depression some time in their lives. It appears in today’s society everyone experiences stress in one form or another. Depression often leads to Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and even Fibromyalgia.

There is a direct relationship between stress/depression to the circulation of water/fluids/blood in the tissue and cells located in your brain (blood is comprised of 90% water).

“The brain uses electrical energy that is generated by the water-drive of the energy-generating pumps. With dehydration, the level of energy generation in the brain is decreased. Many functions of the brain then depend on this type of energy become inefficient. We recognize this inadequacy of function and call it depression. The depressive state is caused by dehydration and can lead to Fibromyalgia”(Your Body’s many cries for water – F. Batmangheledj

So it would make perfect sense that if we can reduce the amount of acidity in the body and increase the amount of alkalinity, we could see great benefit.

Change the cellular environment and change the course of the life the cell is living forever!! I heard this week someone say: “We live and die at the cellular level

Free Radicals, exercise, oxidative stress, antioxidants, alkaline ionized water, vitamin supplements, antioxidant supplements

Free Radicals, exercise, oxidative stress, antioxidants, alkaline ionized water, vitamin supplements, antioxidant supplements

Working out actually increases the amount of oxygen we utilize by ten to twenty times. This can also lead to the problem of free radical generation in the body which leads to increased muscular and tissue damage. So, how should athletes defend themselves against this free radical damage when their job is to workout on a regular basis? Should they be taking extra antioxidants as a preventive measure?

Free radicals in the body cannot directly be measured. In this case, scientists have measured the byproducts of free radical reactions and damage in the body to figure out the amount of free radicals present in the body. Such measurements are performed on athletes to find out free radicals in their body.

Experimental studies have concluded that working out on a regular basis actually enhances the antioxidant defense system and can protect the body against free radical damage. Moreover, this change occurs slowly and gradually as our body adapts to the workout regime.

When a person has not worked out in a long while and is untrained, an intense bout of exercise can cause increased free radical damage. Those people who are weekend warriors and basically workout on weekends may in reality be subjecting their body to more harm than good. Of course, when you work out and have a good diet and exercise regime, your body becomes better equipped to protect itself from free radical damage.

Antioxidant Supplements and Working Out:

How can antioxidant supplements help in preventing free radical damage or enhance recovery after a workout session? It is not yet clear whether antioxidant supplementation can help recovery or prevent free radical damage that has occurred during exercise. However, data suggests that when a person increases the amount of Vitamin E intake, it can help prevent oxidative damage occurred due to exercise. Nonetheless, the amount of vitamin E to be taken in is still not known. Other than that, data on other antioxidants is not yet present to clarify what other supplementations can help during and after workout sessions.

Natural Cure for Diabetes Type 2

How much supplementation should be done?

The amount of supplementation is not yet known. There is data that suggests large amounts of antioxidant supplementation could potentially be harmful and toxic. Our body is tuned to fight against a variety of problems, however; increased amounts of chemicals could be dangerous to the body and may cause an imbalance.

Recommendations for Diet and Exercise:

Regular workouts are recommended. The person should have an intake of 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily in order to ensure that the body has ample antioxidants to fight against free radical damage. Weekend warriors should focus on becoming regular in their workouts.

Drinking Alkaline Ionized Water:

Alkaline ionized water should be consumed on a regular basis. A water ionizer can be easily attached to the kitchen tap. It electrically charges the tap water to make it alkaline. This helps in neutralizing the amount of acidity in the body and prevents problems associated with lactic acid released during a workout session. Alkaline ionized water works as an antioxidant and also helps release toxins and free radicals from the body. When our body is fighting against free radicals and oxidative damage, alkaline ionized water helps in a big way as it flushes out free radicals. When our diet is rich in fruits, vegetables and alkaline ionized water, we can prevent our body from being damaged through free radicals.

Chanson water ionizers produce electrically charged alkaline ionized water. This water is a powerful natural antioxidant. Please visit: www.ChansonAlkalineWater.com and www.HealingWaterMachines.com
